It has been dismal here the past few days. Mild temperatures, but rainy.
I was watching Mother Nature from inside my cozy home and wrote this.
Sky, heavy with the promise of rain,
watches somberly as winds shake the
Maple outside my window.
Fallen leaves littering the ground
beneath the tree, become agitated,
moving restlessly, scooting
across the road into the
barren corn field.
Suddenly, great drops of rain
plummet the earth,
lasting but a short while, leaving
behind bushes accented
by dewy diamonds.
